JUNGLE HARPIES AND AFRICAN VISTAS
Very excited and honoured to have had this joint exhibition with my husband Seth SolFire recently come together at 1900 gallery in Düsseldorf, Germany.
A long time coming, we each exhibited a collection of recent works as well a couple of collaboration paintings. Thank you to the 1900 crew Fabrice and Marnie for facilitating this for us and to the wonderful people that came to the show opening.
Some of these painting are now up on my store if you’d like to take a look!
About the work:
‘Jungle Harpies is Inspired by the folklore around harpies as strong female characters and my love for bird’s delicate beauty. A tribute to family and the transitional nature of life, and to the importance of rite and celebration as we oscillate, sometimes perilously, its in between stages.’ Inma
‘Inspired by growing up in Africa these paintings depict scenes from the southern African region interpreted through bold patterns reminiscent of the art depicted on the traditional rondavels (a traditional circular African dwelling with a conical thatched roof), pottery, and fabrics found there.’ Seth
We are currently in the look out for a venue to exhibit this works again soon more locally, keep your eyes peeled!
Thanks for looking and best wishes.
Inma
