‘THE SERPENT AND THE HERON’ A2 POSTER

I initially planned this composition as a colour study for a big tattoo project that I am working on at the moment. I was having so much fun with it that it ended up turning into a finished painting :)

Loosely inspired on the African Folk Tale of the Snake, the Farmer (don’t ask me to draw a farmer!), and the Heron the moral is that water doesn’t flow uphill. It means that kindness flows onwards, perhaps helping someone else further downstream but rarely coming back up the river. We can give kindness, we can pay it forward, but we shouldn’t expect to be paid back.

‘The heron and the snake often symbolize opposing forces or dualities in various cultural and symbolic contexts. The heron, with its association with the sky and water, can represent wisdom, patience, and spiritual awareness, while the snake, often linked to the earth and darkness, can symbolize temptation, danger, or even the subconscious. Their interaction, particularly in the context of predation, can highlight themes of conflict, survival, and the cyclical nature of life and death’

Now, due to important requesters, ‘The Serpent and the Heron’ has made it to print form! 🩶🐍🌈
Happy to present it to you on a A2 size beautiful 180gsm matt poster paper. You can get yours here.

As always, thank you for your support and I hope these images bring a little joy and introspective into your space.

With best wishes,

Inma
